NORMAL, Ill. – Will Kengor hit his eighth, ninth, and tenth home runs of the season to drive in five runs as the Traverse City Beach Bums(22-28) won the rubber game of this weekend’s series against the Normal Cornbelters(24-27) by a final score of 8-3. In the second inning, Normal took the lead on an RBI single by Nolan Meadows. In the 2nd, Steven Patterson got on with an infield hit then Will Kengor slapped a two-run opposite field home run over the left field wall, giving the Bums the 2-1 lead. The Cornbelters tied the game in the 5th on an RBI single by Santiago Chirino. With two outs in the seventh, Kengor hit his second long ball of the game, this time a solo blast, giving the Bums a 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the frame, Chirino tied the game with another RBI single. In the eighth, Arby Fields walked then stole second. John Montgomery came to the plate and powered a two-run home run over the left field wall, giving Traverse City a two-run cushion.
