Photo Credit: Ed Bailey/Wichita Wignuts DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Wichita Wingnuts INF Christian Stringer (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 25. Stringer hit .538 (14-for-26) this week, collecting two doubles and four RBI, and helping Wichita to a 6-1 record over the week. He started his hot week on Monday in the opener of a four-game series at the Salina Stockade. In an 11-5 Wichita win, Stringer was 4-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored. A day later, the Henderson, Tex. native went 1-for-4 with a walk in helping his team to a 9-1 triumph. The Wingnuts swept a doubleheader on Wednesday to complete a series sweep. Stringer had three hits in each game of the twinbill, as he was 3-for-4 with two runs scored in an 11-4 win in game one, and followed that up with a 3-for-4 game in game two that featured an RBI and a run scored. Wichita won 6-4. The Wingnuts welcomed in the Cleburne Railroaders for a weekend series, and despite losing Friday’s game 5-3, Stringer was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run…
