SHOEMAKER’S BLAST GIVES SAINTS SERIES SWEEP OF GOLDEYES

June 25 Evening Recap St. Paul 5, Winnipeg 4 (11 Innings) – Box St. Paul DH Brady Shoemaker launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Saints a dramatic 5-4 walk-off win over Winnipeg. The victory by St. Paul completed the four-game sweep of Winnipeg and now gives them a seven-game lead over the Goldeyes in the North Division. The Saints had six total hits in the contest with four of them being home runs. Shoemaker hit two on the night to go along with two runs scored and two RBI while 1B Tony Thomas and LF Anthony Gallas each blasted a solo shot. Saints pitcher Kenneth Frosch recorded the final out in the top of the 11th and notched his third win of the season. For Winnipeg in the losing effort, leadoff hitter Andrew Sohn had a 3-for-5 outing with a run scored and a RBI.
