CRANE'S GRAND SLAM LEADS AIGLES TO VICTORY

After losing to the Aigles 7-3 on Thursday night, the Miners struck first on Friday, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth. 3B Jay Baum hit an RBI single and 1B J.J. Fernandez followed with a two-run triple to make it a 3-0 game. RF Javier Herrera got a run back for the Aigles in the fifth, on a solo home run. The Aigles scored four runs in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead on a grand slam by 1B Connor Crane (pictured). The homer was his fourth of the year and his heroics led the Aigles to a 5-4 victory. Elsewhere, the Jackals defeated the Cuban National Team 7-6, and the Champions beat the Boulders 13-9. The game between the Dominican Republic and the Capitales was rained out.
