Lincoln 5, Salina 4 – Box The Saltdogs continued their strong play, winning their 13th game of the season on Saturday. After the Saltdogs took an early 4-1 lead, the Stockade tied the game in the fifth, capped by a RBI single from 1B Kewby Meyer, who recorded three hits on the day and knocked in two runs. The Saltdogs struck back in the seventh, when 1B Curt Smith knocked in the eventual game-winning run on a RBI single. Smith had a huge day at the plate, knocking in four out of the five runs in the victory. 2B Cesar Valera also had a strong game, collecting two hits and scoring three times. RHP J.R. Bunda earned his fourth win of the season, pitching three scoreless innings in relief. RHP Michael Wagner closed out the Stockade in the ninth inning and earned his third save. Gary 9, Sioux City 7 (10 innings) – Box The Railcats topped the Explorers in a wild affair on Saturday, as the teams went to extra innings to decide the game.
