Windy City Takes Second Straight in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, IN – The ThunderBolts clinched their seventh straight series victory with a 4-2 win over the Evansville Otters at Bosse Field Wednesday night. The ThunderBolts (16-7) rode their strong first inning to the win as they batted around and scored three runs right off the bat. Keenyn Walker and Coco Johnson singled to put men at the corners with no outs. When Johnson stole second base, Dane Phillips’ throw sailed into center field, allowing Walker to score the game’s first run. Tim Zier followed with an RBI single and the Bolts led 2-0 just three batters into the game. After two walks, the Bolts loaded the bases with two outs in the inning and Ransom LaLonde’s single scored Zier to make it 3-0. Evansville (10-14) brought themselves back into the game with a two-run fourth inning. Alejandro Segovia walked and Chris Riopedre singled, putting runners at first and second with two outs. Back-to-back RBI singles for Chris Sweeney and Xyruse Martinez tightened the ThunderBolts’ lead to 3-2.
