SAUGET, Ill. – Kyle Von Ruden of the Windy City ThunderBolts and Steven Patterson of the Traverse City Beach Bums have been named the Week 3 Frontier League Pitcher and Player of the Week as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation Von Ruden, who is in his 2nd season with the Frontier League, had one start this week when the Gateway Grizzlies traveled to Crestwood to take on the Windy City ThunderBolts. Von Ruden lasted 8 full innings, and didn’t allow a run with just 2 hits, 3 walks and striking out 5. Kyle currently has 3 starts on the season with a 1-0 record with an ERA of 1.83. The righty also has 11 strikeouts, 8 walks and 14 hits on the season. Von Ruden, originally from Elk Grove, California, attended school at the University of Hawaii and was named All-Big West Honorable mention his senior year.
