TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums(7-6) put up six runs in the second and didn’t look back in a 16-0 drubbing of the Southern Illinois Miners(4-9), on Friday night. After a scoreless first, Will Kengor and Alexis Rivera led off the second with singles to center. Kendall Patrick then drove in the first run with an RBI double. Elijah Trail, Giancarlo Brugnoni, Nick Murphy, and Jeff DeBlieux each hit RBI singles, one after the other, to continue the offensive onslaught. Steven Patterson then hit his own RBI single to extend the lead to six. In the third, with one away, Patrick walked and Trail hit a two-run bomb over the right field wall. The runs continued in the fourth inning, with another two put on the board. DeBlieux led off with a walk then moved to third on a Ryan Garvey single to center. DeBlieux then scored on a wild pitch, moving Garvey to third. Kengor came up and drove in Garvey with an RBI single, bringing the lead to double digits.
