GUAIPE NAMED FIRST PITCHER OF THE WEEK OF 2017

The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Rockland Boulders RHP Mayckol Guaipe (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 21. The former Major Leaguer played an integral role in helping Rockland to a season-opening five-game sweep of the Sussex County Miners. In Rockland’s 10-3 home win on Thursday to open the 2017 campaign, Guaipe struck out the side in a scoreless inning. A day later, with the Boulders on the road in Sussex County, Guaipe picked up the save with a scoreless 11th inning. The Boulders won the thrilling game 6-3.
