Beach Bums Set To Open 2017 Season

TRAVERSE CITY, MI – After a two-week training camp, a successful FANFest, and numerous scrimmages, the 2017 version of the Traverse City Beach Bums are eager to, once again, compete for the Frontier League Championship. The final difficult decisions have been made and manager Dan Rohn, and new bench coach, Joseph Brown, has set their opening day roster for the new season. On the infield, slugger Giancarlo Brugnoni will spend a majority of the season manning first base. The double-play combination of Steven Patterson and Will Kengor, are also returning from last year’s club. Another returnee, Elijah Trail, along with newcomers, Brook Clark, and Lucas Hunter will round out the infield. Fourth year Beach Bum, Jeff DeBlieux, will be the anchor in the outfield, as he takes over the veteran slot on the roster. Tyler Peterson returns to the cherry capital after an injury-shortened 2016 campaign. New to the outfield are Ryan Garvey, who returns to the game after a two year layoff, and Alexis Rivera, who provides a power punch in a corner outfield spot. Former Michigan Wolverine, Kendall Patrick, comes back to the Bums for his third season, and will be expected to handle the duties behind the plate.…
