METS PURCHASE CONTRACT OF BOOMERS’ DANIEL HOY

The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, are pleased to announce that Boomers’ outfielder, Daniel Hoy, has been signed by the New York Mets organization. Hoy, 23, spent the final four games of the 2016 season with the Boomers after finishing his collegiate career at Princeton University. Hoy finished in the top ten in Tigers history in hits, doubles, runs, and stolen bases. The Princeton, NJ native posted .306/.373./.477 during his four-year collegiate career. During his senior season, Hoy tallied a career high 55 hits and 28 RBIs. “As an organization we are glad to see Daniel get this opportunity with the Mets,” Boomers General Manager Pete Laven said. “These signings validate the type of talent that is coming through Schaumburg and the Frontier League as a whole. The Boomers are becoming a pipeline to major league affiliated baseball.” The 2017 season kicks off on Friday, May 12th as the Schaumburg Boomers begin their 2017 journey with two straight days of Fireworks.
