The Schaumburg Boomers have announced the return of the team’s reading incentive program, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, for the 2016-2017 school year. The program, which debuted in 2012, promotes literacy and reading comprehension in children through a partnership with local schools. Boomers Bookworms is open to students from Pre-K through 8th Grade. The program incentivizes and seeks to inspire students to read outside the classroom by rewarding them for reaching specific goals set by their teachers. Program Overview: Students and teachers set classroom/school wide goals for independent reading. Participating students receive prizes provided by the Boomers, including two (2) complimentary tickets to a designated 2017 Boomers game, and one (1) Boomers Bookworms String Backpack! Customizable to your school – Already have a reading incentive program in place? Boomers Bookworms is a great opportunity to piggyback on that program and offer additional incentives to each student. Complimentary tickets are good for any May or June date during the 2017 season.
