WINGNUTS GRAB 2-1 SERIES LEAD WITH GAME THREE WIN

Wichita 7, Winnipeg 5 – Game 3 (Wichita leads series, 2-1) – Box The Wichita Wingnuts are now one win away from the American Association championship as they defeated Winnipeg in game three, 7-5. Wichita jumped out in front 5-0 after an inning of play and would never look back en route to the 2-1 series lead. Wingnuts CF Harrison Kain led the way offensively going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Wichita DH Brent Clevlen drew a pair of walks and scored two runs while RF Nick Van Stratten drove in two runs in a 1-for-4 night. Wingnuts pitcher Eddie Medina threw three scoreless innings of relief to notch his first victory of the postseason. Medina gave up a walk and three hits with two strikeouts in the 13 batters faced. Wichita closer Frankie Reed collected the final out in a bases loaded jam in the eighth and finished off the Goldeyes in the ninth to earn the save.
