Source: Frontier League News
The Evansville Otters scored in seven of nine innings Friday night to defeat Joliet 10-4 in game three of the Frontier League Divisional Series at Silver Cross Field, giving the Otters a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. After surrendering a run in the first inning, starter Hunter Ackerman stymied the Slammers until the seventh. Tyler Thompson relieved Ackerman with two outs in the eighth inning and finished the game. Evansville pounded 14 hits, including a 2-run homer by designated hitter Jeff Gardner in the sixth to extend the Otters’ lead to 7-1. Chris Riopedre and Nik Balog each had three hits for the Otters. Evansville will turn to their game 1 starter, Preston Olson, as they look to advance to the Frontier League Championship Series for the first time since 2006, while Joliet will counter with Chris Rice. Saturday’s game 4 begins at 6:05 PM Central and will air live on WUEV radio, 91.5 FM. Share on Facebook Retweet this Submit this to Stumble this
