TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The defending Frontier League champion Traverse City Beach Bums today announced that the contract of left-handed starter Dylan Stoops has been purchased by the San Diego Padres organization. Stoops, the reigning Frontier League pitcher of the week, leads the league in wins on his way to a 9-3 record, and a league seventh- best earned run average of 3.18. He’s also coming off of a week in which he hurled two complete game victories. In his sixteen appearances for the Beach Bums, he’s thrown 90.2 innings, allowing 32 earned runs on 77 hits, striking out a team-leading 79 batters, while only walking 28. Picking up a win in each of his last four starts, he is now expected to report to either double-A, and the San Antonio Missions in the Texas League, or advanced single-A, and the Lake Elsinore Storm in the California League.
