Lincoln 5, Joplin 4 — Box Score The Lincoln Saltdogs scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to overtake the Joplin Blasters 5-3. In the top of the ninth, the Saltdogs were trailing 4-2, but a single from 3B Luis Alen scored LF Brandon Jacobs to draw within one run. In the next at-bat, RF Jon Smith doubled to plate both 1B Curt Smith and PR Austin Darby and give his team a one-run lead. Reliever Ed Reed came on to pitch the bottom of the ninth and sealed the win, picking up a save in the process. For the game, Alen and Smith each had three hits, while four different Blasters had two-hits apiece – including C Connor Sullivan and CF K.C. Huth who added RBI. Laredo 8, Texas 3 — Box Score The Laredo Lemurs scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to seal an 8-3 win against the Texas AirHogs. The score was tied at 3-3 heading into the eighth inning before DH Brennan Metzger broke that tie with a two-RBI triple.
