Joliet Slammers’ third baseman Jake Gronsky and Traverse City Beach Bums’ starting pitcher Dylan Stoops were named Frontier League Players and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Gronsky, in his third season of professional baseball and second season in the Frontier League managed to get 12 hits in his 26 at bats this week. To start off the week, Gronsky, went 1-4 against the Boomers where he managed to get 3 RBI and 1 run scored. He followed up this performance with finishing the series out 5-9 at the plate. Gronsky hit 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and 1 walk, with 4 runs scored to finish his midweek series agiant the Boomers. For the weekend series against the Beach Bums Gronsky got 6 hits in his 13 at bats. In the series he also got 5 RBI, 1 home run, and 1 run scored. Going into this week Gronsky was hitting .276 but increased his average up to .296, he also now has 7 home runs, 57 RBI, 15 walks, 5 stolen bases, 1 triple, and 2o doubles for the season.
