TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Tonight’s game between the Traverse City Beach Bums’(31-42) and the Windy City ThunderBolts(35-39) has been canceled due to inclement weather. The game was in the bottom of the fourth inning when the skies opened up with heavy rain. The Beach Bums were leading 2-0 on RBI hits by Marcos Derkes and Casey Rodrigue. About 30 minutes after the rain started, the decision was made to cancel to game. The result and all stats will not count. Lost in the cancellation is the stellar debut by Eastern Michigan grad, Augie Gallardo. Although the stats will not count, he was very tough on the mound through four innings. He retired the first eleven men to face him and, in total, allowed just one hit, one walk, while striking out four. Tomorrow night, the Beach Bums will head to Silver Cross Field in Joliet, IL, to start a three game series against the Joliet Slammers. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05pm and Tom Willms will have the Miller Lite Pre-Game Show at 7:45pm, on 101.9- The Bay.
