Wichita 7, Laredo 5 – Box Wichita pounded out 14 hits in the contest and held off a late ninth inning charge from Laredo to win by a 7-5 score. The Wingnuts had five players collect two or more hits including DH Brent Clevlen who went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. Wichita leadoff hitter Christian Stringer had a three-hit game with a pair of runs scored while 3B Zack Cox hit two doubles and plated two runs. Wichita starting pitcher Eddie Medina nabbed his third straight victory and improved his record to 4-3 on the season. Medina gave up an earned run on six hits with two walks and three punchouts. With the win, the Wingnuts push their lead to 5 ½ games over the Lemurs in the South Division. Lincoln 3, St. Paul 2 – Box Lincoln 3B Luis Alen scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly by DH Curt Smith as the Saltdogs edged the St. Paul Saints, 3-2.
