July 24 Afternoon Recap Fargo-Moorhead 7, Sioux City 1 – Box Fargo-Moorhead finished off the three game sweep of Sioux City as they downed the Explorers by a 7-1 score. RedHawks SS Mike Gilmartin led the way offensively going 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Fargo-Moorhead C Luke Bailey added a home run and two RBI while 3B Josh Mazzola plated two runs and drove in one in a 1-for-3 day. RedHawks starting pitcher Matt Snyder threw 5 1/3 innings and collected his first win of the season. Snyder allowed an earned run on two hits with three strikeouts. For Sioux City in defeat, SS Nate Samson went 1-for-4 and drove in the team’s only run of the contest. Wichita 10, Joplin 2 – Box The Wichita Wingnuts tallied four runs in the third inning to take a 5-1 lead and would never look back en route to a 10-2 win over the Joplin Blasters. Wichita collected 14 hits in the contest with three batters having multi-hit games. Wingnuts 1B Matt Chavez went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI.
