July 20 Afternoon Recap Gary SouthShore 5, Laredo 4 (10 Innings) – Box Center fielder Anthony Cheky scored the game winning run on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Gary SouthShore RailCats defeated the Laredo Lemurs in walk-off fashion, 5-4. Gary SouthShore had a 4-1 lead after four innings only to see Laredo score a run in the sixth and two more in the ninth to tie the contest up and force extra innings. Cheky had two hits in the game while DH Frank Martinez went 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Gary SouthShore pitcher Santiago Rodriguez tossed a scoreless 10th inning and notched his fifth win of the season. For the Lemurs in defeat, C Zane Chavez and RF Denis Phipps each hit solo home runs.
