ADDITIONAL 2016 Y’ALL-STAR TEAM PLAYERS SELECTED

(Sauget, Illinois)- In advance of next week’s 2016 Frontier League Y’All-Star Game, West Division manager Mike Pinto has selected three Florence Freedom players, Taylor Oldham, Jeremy Gooding, and Austin Newell. Pinto has also chosen two Southern Illinois Miners players to attend next week. Those players are Alex De Leon and Francisco Rosario. Meanwhile, East manager Jeff Isom has selected two left-handed pitchers from the Joliet Slammers Spencer Medick and Sean Townsley. He also chose outfielder Cody Keefer of the Windy City ThunderBolts. Oldham has been an offensive stalwart for the Freedom so far this season. Coming into the Y’All-Star game Oldham is hitting .286 with 6 home runs, 1 triple, 29 RBI, 19 walks, and 32 runs scored, with 7 stolen bases. The 26-year-old Orlando, FL native will be making his first Frontier League All-Star game appearance after spending his first year of professional baseball with the Washington Wild Things and then going back to play in the American Association. His first professional debut in the Frontier League was with the Washington Wild Things and Road Warriors in 2012. Gooding has provided some great pitching for the Freedom thus far this season.
