TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums are proud to announce that Kramer Champlin, Steven Patterson, Will Kengor, and Jose Vargas, have been selected to play in the 2016 Frontier League All-Star Game, on July 13th in Florence, KY. Pitcher Kramer Champlin has already had a historic season in 2016. On May 20th, in the team’s home opener, he hurled the first no-hitter in Beach Bums history against the Joliet Slammers. He was named the league’s first Pitcher of the Week in 2016. He is 3-4 with an earned run average at 2.25 which is fourth in the league and has two complete games with is tied for second. In 60 innings, Kramer has allowed just 15 earned runs and seven walks. Champlin, 26, out of Olympia, WA, is in his second season with the Beach Bums after four seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays’ system. Last year with the Bums, he was 10-6 with a 2.05 ERA. This year will be his second straight All-Star Game appearance. Second baseman Steven Patterson, in his first season in the Frontier League, is hitting .293 with six homers, 21 runs batted in, nine doubles, and has been walked 25 times.…
