BOX SCORE AND GAME STATS July 3, 2016 By Adam Rickert UTICA – Austin Crutcher’s two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth broke a 3-3 tie and propelled the Utica Unicorns to a 10-6 victory over the Eastside Diamond Hoppers in Sunday’s USPBL game at Jimmy John’s Field. “I think we did a good job as a whole to stay in it,” Crutcher said. “I think we’ve got a good team and we’re very competitive.” Chris Cruz singled and Dalton Kelley reached on an error to put two men on to start the pivotal sixth frame, but a strikeout and a groundout brought up Crutcher as the Unicorns’ last chance to drive them in. “I was just trying to see something I could handle and I put a good barrel on it,” said Crutcher, who is now second in the USPBL with five home runs. “I’m just swinging at good pitches, being a little more patient and taking advantage of balls that I can drive.” The Unicorns, however, had some catching up to do before worrying about taking the lead.
