Courtesy Sioux City Explorers Media Relations Sioux City, Iowa – The Sioux City Explorers announced today that the Los Angeles Dodgers have purchased the contract of Explorers INF Noah Perio. Perio will report to the Great Lakes Loons (Low Class A) of the Midwest League. Perio was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 39th round in the 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft from De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif. He spent six seasons in the Marlins organization (2009-2014), reaching as high as Double-A in 2013. In his first year with the X’s in 2015, the Discovery Bay, Calif., native turned in an outstanding season in which he played in all 100 games and led the team in hits (129), doubles (29), and RBI’s (74). The 129 hit season was also tops in the entire American Association while his 29 doubles was the 2nd highest in the league. Perio also clubbed 7 home runs which were good for 2nd on the team, while adding 4 triples, 61 runs scored, and 18 stolen bases to go with an impressive .316 batting average.
