CRUSHERS ANNOUNCE COACHING STAFF SHAKE-UP

The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, announced today multiple changes in the team’s coaching staff. The team announced the hiring of new Manager Cameron Roth, along with 2 new Assistant Coaches, Mike Ruechel & Derek Shomon. Chris Mongiardo has been dismissed as the team’s Manager, along with Assistant Coaches Justin Cureton and Nate Alter. Roth, 27, joins the Crushers from his position as Pitching Coach for the Schaumburg Boomers, where he served on Manager Jamie Bennett’s staff for 3 years. The former Baltimore Orioles draft choice and left-handed Pitcher, retired from competitive baseball following the 2012 season due to multiple back surgeries. Since that time the Newport News, Virginia native has served as Bench Coach, Hitting Coach and Pitching Coach for the Boomers. “It is a thrill and honor to be named Manager of the Lake Erie Crushers”, according to Roth. “I want to extended the upmost gratitude and appreciation to the Schaumburg Boomers organization especially the Salvi family, Pete Laven, and Jamie Bennett for an unforgettable experience over these last five years.
