BOOMERS OWNER PATRICK A. SALVI WINS FIRST EVER TOMMY LASORDA LEGENDS AWARD

CHICAGO (June 14, 2016) – On Monday June 13, 2016 the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame awarded Patrick A. Salvi the first ever Tommy Lasorda Legends Award for contributions made to the game of baseball. Mr. Salvi, a Chicago trial lawyer, is the owner of two professional minor league baseball teams, the Schaumburg Boomers (Frontier League), the Gary Southshore Railcats(American Association), and the college wood bat franchise, NorthShore Navigators, located near Boston. Under Mr. Salvi’s leadership, the Schaumburg Boomers were named the Frontier League Organization of the Year in 2013 and went on to win the Frontier League Championship in 2013 and 2014. In 2015, the Navigators were named the Futures Collegiate Baseball League Organization of the Year. The Railcats won their 3rd league championship in 2013 when they captured the American Association crown. “I am thrilled to receive this award from the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame,” Patrick A. Salvi said. “As an Italian American I am especially proud to be so honored.
