AVON, Ohio — The Lake Erie Crushers took down the Gateway Grizzlies, 2-0, as six Crushers pitchers combined to throw a three hit shutout. Following the win, the Crushers (10-5) now have recorded three shutouts this season, all have come at home. The loss for the Grizzlies (9-9) marks the fourth time they have dropped a series this season. The Crushers struck in the first inning and grabbed an early lead. Parks Jordan walked and then moved to second as William Beckwith roped a single to right field. With two outs, Juan Avila then hit a single, scoring Jordan and putting the Crushers up, 1-0. In the fourth inning, the Crushers added an insurance run. Daniel Aldrich hit a solo home run that easily cleared the fence in right field, his second home run of the season. That run gave the Crushers a 2-0 advantage. Jordan Kraus (1-0) had an excellent season debut, going five no-hit innings, walking two and striking out one Grizzly hitter. Kraus picked up the win. Five Crushers came out of the bullpen and went four scoreless innings, surrendering only three hits. Every pitcher out of the bullpen struck out at least one hitter. Mike Devine…
