The Crushers (5-0) have the best record to start a season in franchise history. The loss for the Boomers (1-5) puts them at the bottom of the East Division. Lake Erie got on the board first with Daniel Aldrich’s double to the deepest part of the park in center, allowing Juan Avila to score from first base in the fourth inning. The Crushers would strike again in the fifth when Max Casper and Parker Norris hit back-to-back singles to start the inning. Parks Jordan then moved the runners over with a sacrifice bunt down the third base line. With runners on second and third and one out, Jose Barraza hit a two-run double, pushing the Crushers lead to three. Schaumburg fought back in the top of the sixth inning as Jordan Dean hit a one out ground-rule double to right field. Paul Kronenfeld then hit a single to center which plated Dean.
