JOLIET SLAMMERS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT OVER THE WASHINGTON WILD THINGS

Joliet, IL- Just over 12 hours after the Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy defeated the Washington Wild Things Tuesday, they were back at Silver Cross Field for game two Wednesday morning, May 18 and came away with another win. The Slammers came out on top in the second game of the series 5-2 as Marc Flores led the way for Joliet by driving in three runs. Flores was 2-2 at the plate with three RBIs and two runs scored. Flores was also a key in the Slammers’ 6-1 win Tuesday night as he drove in a run and scored a run as well. Joliet got its first run in the second inning from Carter Bell. Bell hit a groundball to third and the Wild Things’ third baseman Bryan Haar could not make the play. Alfredo Rodriguez got a hit in the second inning that led to an RBI double by Flores with two outs. Flores and Boo Vasquez added two key insurance runs in the fifth inning as the Wild Things got a big two-run home run by Haar to make the score 4-2 in the sixth inning.
