MILKMEN STRUGGLES CONTINUE IN SECOND CONSECUTIVE LOSS TO RAILCATS.

By Chife Jaeger

Franklin Wis. – The Milwaukee Milkmen (branded as Milwaukee Sweet Teats for the jersey auction night) had more of the same struggles that they faced in game one against the Gary Southshore Railcats and have faced for most of the season. Tonight being in front of 3,500-plus fans.

Milwaukee once again only scored two runs all night, a single from Bryan Torres that scored Logan Trowbridge in the fourth and a solo home run from Keon Barnum in the next inning.

The Milkmen defense allowed six runs to the Railcats in a performance that included four errors and a third inning that allowed six consecutive base hits. An error in the first inning allowed a run to score and in the third starting pitcher Jake Matthys gave up six consecutive singles that allowed another four runs to score. The final run allowed was a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning that all but finalized the score 6-2.

Milkmen manager Anthony Barone was ejected from the game in the top of the sixth inning when he argued with home plate umpire Neil Turner on a foul-tip call that appeared to be a swinging strike three.

Milwaukee did not trail Gary Southshore in hitting totals by a wide margin, the Milkmen collected 10 hits to the Railcats 12, but Milwaukee did not have more than two hits in an inning and left 10 runners on-base over the night.

Milwaukee will now play game three of the series against the Railcats Sunday and will look to avoid being swept at home for the first time this season. The game begins at Franklin Field at 1:00 p.m.

Tickets are available at MilwaukeeMilkmen.com or at the Box Office prior to the game.
