UTICA, Mich. – Ben McConnell finished the night 2-for-3 with three RBIs and one run to lead the Eastside Diamond Hoppers (11-13) over the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (10-18), 6-5, on Wednesday at Jimmy John’s Field. Right-handed pitcher Stephen Chamblee earned the win, tossing 6.1 innings and striking out six for the Hoppers. Nick Kreutzer went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Hayden Pearce pitched 1.1 innings, getting out of a bases loaded seventh inning.
