Saturday night was highlighted by more late scoring and comebacks, as well as a home run derby victory. Read more about the night’s action with our nightly recap: Gateway starter Sam Gardner struck out eleven batters in a 7-4 Grizzlies win over the Florence Y’alls. Chad Sedio got the scoring started with a two-run home run. The Grizzlies scored three in the third with Alonzo Jones scoring a run and driving in two with a double to give Gateway the 3-2 lead. They scored another in the fourth, fifth, and sixth to make it 6-2. Chase Vallot hit a solo home run in the sixth. In the bottom of the eighth, Florence scored two on an RBI single from Sedio and an RBI groundout by Rodney Tennie to make it 6-4. Gardner gave up two runs in seven innings of work.
