Tuesday’s return to action featured a number of close contests, with a couple requiring late scoring to determine the outcomes. Catch up on a great night of action with our nightly recap: The Schaumburg Boomers gave up five runs late but held off the Florence Y’alls for the 6-5 win. Schaumburg crossed the plate first, as Brett Milazzo hit into a fielder’s choice that scored the game’s first run. Clint Hardy connected on a three-run home run in the second to make it 4-0. Nick Oddo then singled home a run in the fourth and Angelo Gumbs hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth to make it a 6-0 ballgame. In the eighth, the Y’alls finally managed to get on the board after a sacrifice fly by Axel Johnson and a Chad Sedio double that made it 6-2. A rally in the ninth got Florence even closer.
