A couple of strong offensive showings and some key rubber matches highlighted Sunday’s Frontier League action. Read more about every game with our brief nightly recap: The Schaumburg Boomers defeated the Lake Erie Crushers 4-1 Sunday to complete a series sweep and extend their division lead to 5.5 games. The Boomers were held hitless until the fifth. Later in the fifth, Alec Craig reached on an error to drive home the first run and Chase Dawson hit an RBI single to make it 2-0. Lake Erie answered an inning later when Connor Oliver’s sacrifice fly made it a 2-1 game. Schaumburg added a run in the seventh with Chase Dawson’s sacrifice fly, and one in the eighth on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Luke Becker to make it 4-1. Andrew Dean struck out four in his 5.2 innings of work and allowed only one run on five hits…
