Josh Loggins enjoyed a seven-year professional playing career, spending two seasons in the Frontier League. He was drafted in the 1998 MLB June Amateur Draft by the San Diego Padres, after attending and playing for the University of Kentucky. After three to four years in the organizations of the Padres and the Yankees, he was released. He was good friends with Jeff Isom, who was then the manager of the Washington Wild Things at that time. He said that, combined with his desire to keep playing helped him decide to join the Frontier League and sign with Washington for the 2002 season. He had a great 2002 season with the Wild Things. He hit .347, which ranked fourth in the league that year.
