JOLIET USES FIVE PITCHERS TO NO-HIT SCHAUMBURG

More Frontier League history was made Thursday afternoon, as we saw the third no-hitter of the season. Read more about it and the rest of Thursday’s games with our recap of all the action: The Joliet Slammers used five pitchers to throw a combined no-hitter and defeat the Schaumburg Boomers by a 2-0 score. The offense came in the second on an RBI single by Lane Baremore, and in the fourth on a solo home run by Braxton Davidson. Chris Roycroft got the start for the Slammers and went four hitless innings, striking out four. Austin Shea followed, pitching 1.1 innings, allowing four walks, and striking out a batter. Brett Smith then worked 1.2 innings and earned the win before Brad VanAsdlen and Trevor Charpie each pitched an inning to secure the no-hitter.
