Wednesday was a busy day in the Frontier League, with two doubleheaders taking place as part of a nine-game schedule on the night. Catch up on any game you may have missed with our nightly recap: The Windy City ThunderBolts won their second straight game with a 3-1 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers. They took a 2-0 lead in the first inning after a Peyton Isaacson RBI single plated two. In the fourth, a Nick Ames base hit for the Boomers scored a run to cut the lead to 2-1. In his professional debut, Windy City’s Rob Weissheier hit an RBI triple in the seventh to give the ThunderBolts enough to secure the win. Tyler Thornton finished the night after seven innings pitched, giving up just one run on three hits, allowing just three walks and striking out three in the win.
