Gary SouthShore 5, Kane County 4 – Box Score The Gary SouthShore RailCats (15-19) walked off on the Kane County Cougars 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon to split the four-game set. The RailCats entered the bottom of the ninth trailing 4-3 but quickly put the winning run on base with back-to-back lead-off walks. After a wild pitch, SS Thomas Walraven hit into a fielder’s choice that allowed LF MJ Rookard (2-for-4) to score the tying run. 3B Hayden Schilling drew a walk in the next at-bat and then RF Jesus Marriaga (2-for-5) singled to center field to plate Walraven and end the game. For the Cougars, LF Anthony Ray and RF Jeffrey Baez each went 2-for-3 and 3B Gavin LaValley and 1B Kacy Clemens each added home runs.
