WASHINGTON, Pa. -The Wild Things continue with their roster building as they today sign experienced INF Randy Cesar. The Santo Domingo native signed with the Houston Astros back in 2012 as a 17 year old. Cesar has annually showcased an impactful bat, posting a career .269 batting average but 2018 was his breakout season. While playing for the Corpus Christ Hooks in the Texas League Cesar went on to make history and broke a 49 year record, hitting in 42 consecutive games. His hitting streak ranks as one of the longest in Minor League Baseball’s 120+ year history and he is the most recent player to hit in 40+ straight games professionally. After a historic 2018 campaign, Cesar went on to sign with the Minnesota Twins where he appeared in 45 games with the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings.
