News today came out of both the Atlantic and Can-Am Leagues in that the Newark Bears will switch from the Atlantic League to the Can-Am League for the 2011 season:
This now makes the Can-Am League a 7-team league:
- Brockton
- New Jersey Jackals
- Newark Bears
- Pittsfield Colonials
- Quebec Capitales
- Sussex Skyhawks
- Worcester Tornadoes
This leaves speculation about the 8th team for 2011. It could be the proposed team in Ramapo, NY (Rockland County). It also could be a Canadian team as Trois-Rivieres (Three Rivers) has been mentioned. Should both come in for 2011 then it will be interesting to see if a 10th team is added.
Also, this means that the new Loudon County (Virginia) Atlantic League team is currently the 8th team in the league. Their Texas team, should it play in 2011 would be the 9th team in the League. Information on the Texas team as well as any additional Atlantic League teams will be added to this site as the information is confirmed.
Feel free to leave your thoughts on this situation.
