CANARIES’ HART TABBED AS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

MOORHEAD, MN — The American Association announced Wednesday September 4 that Sioux Falls Canaries’ OF Mike Hart has been named the American Association’s 2019 Rookie of the Year. Hart earned the award after hitting .297 with 11 home runs and 41 RBIs for the Canaries in 2019. Hart also scored 42 runs, collected 17 doubles, and walked 29 times. Hart began his professional career in 2018 with Sioux Falls. The 25-year-old was then traded to the Lincoln Saltdogs, but was traded back to the Canaries after just five games played. In 66 total games in 2018, Hart batted .309 with 1 home run and 15 RBIs.
