SAINTS’ CLOSER KIEST EARNS PITCHER OF THE WEEK HONORS

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that St. Paul Saints’ RHP Tanner Kiest has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending September 1, 2019. Kiest earned the award after going 4-for-4 in save opportunities this past week. Kiest slammed the door on the Chicago Dogs in a 7-6 game on August 26, the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in a 4-3 game on August 28, and the RedHawks again in a 12-9 game on August 29. Kiest also battled to close out the Chicago Dogs in a 4-2 game on Sunday, allowing one run but retiring the side to earn the save. On the season, Kiest is 1-2 with a 2.28 ERA and nine saves in 47.1 innings of work. Kiest began his professional career in 2014 after being drafted in the 28th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the…
