RAILCATS’ WILLIS HITS .500 IN AWARD WINNING WEEK

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Gary SouthShore RailCats’ OF Colin Willis has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending August 18, 2019. Willis earned the award after hitting .500 with eight runs scored, four doubles, two triples, two home runs and five RBIs over seven games this past week. The veteran outfielder is now hitting a team-high .315 on the year with 62 runs scored, 22 doubles, 7 triples, 10 home runs and 58 RBIs. The 27-year-old has spent his entire four-year career with the Gary SouthShore RailCats, signing with Gary SouthShore in 2016 out of Purdue North Central. Willis has been an integral part of the RailCats since 2016, hitting .319 in 2017 and .297 in 2018. Across four American Association seasons, Willis has posted a .306 batting average while hitting 27 home runs…
