MINERS’ RIGHTY DUNCAN PITCHER OF THE WEEK FOR THIRD TIME

Thornhill, Ontario — Sussex County Miners RHP Frank Duncan is the Can-Am League’s Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 29-August 4, as selected by PointStreak, the league’s official statistician. Duncan was dazzling in his only outing of the week, a complete-game victory July 31 over Quebec in which he gave up one run on two hits while striking out 11 in a 3-1 Sussex County victory. The San Francisco native, who also pitched a no-hitter June 13 against New Jersey, leads the league with six complete games and 95.2 innings pitched, is tied for the Can-Am lead with eight victories, is third with a 3.01 ERA and fourth with 81 strikeouts.
