WASHINGTON, PA – Christian Funk’s first professional home run was a two-run shot in the ninth inning that broke a 1-1 tie and delivered a 3-2 win to the ThunderBolts over the Washington Wild Things at Wild Things Park Thursday night. Randy Perez put the first run on the board for Windy City (25-31) in the second inning. He followed a Funk walk with a two-out double to make the score 1-0. Tyler Thornton made that score hold over the next three innings but the Wild Things (24-33) tied it up in the bottom of the fifth. They loaded the bases on a single, a walk and a hit batter. That brought Hector Roa up with two outs and Roa reached on an infield single that brought home the tying run.
