WASHINGTON, PA —The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, scored in four different innings an tallied a 7-2 victory over the Washington Wild Things in the opener of a three-game road series on Friday night. Schaumburg broke through in the third inning, scoring four runs. Connor Oliver led off with a walk and scored on a fielder’s choice from Alex Polston. Dylan Jones blasted his fourth homer of the year, a three-run shot to right to cap the scoring in the inning. Washington scored in the fourth before the Boomers added single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh to open a 7-1 edge. Quincy Nieporte logged an RBI single in the fifth, All-Star Nick Oddo hit his fourth homer leading off the sixth and Jones added an RBI single in the seventh.
