MARION, IL —The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, saw plenty of season high totals as everyone in the lineup reached base while notching a 10-4 win over the Southern Illinois Miners on Saturday night. Facing a rookie pitcher making his professional debut, the Boomers scored four runs in the second inning to grab control early. Matt Rose led off the frame with his third homer of the year. Rayden Sierra lifted a sacrifice fly in the inning and Clint Hardy notched an RBI single with another run scoring on a wild pitch. Hardy made the score 5-0 with a fifth inning RBI single. Jack Parenty drilled a two-run homer in the seventh to pad the lead to 7-0. Southern Illinois received a pair of homers from Gianfranco Wawoe to battle within 7-4 before three more runs in the ninth accounted for the final.
