Gilberto Mejia Kicks Off 2019 Hall of Fame Inductions

The Frontier League is proud to enshrine its 6th Hall of Fame Class throughout the 2019 season. Leading off is a celebration in Crestwood, where the Windy City ThunderBolts will honor the organization’s 20th anniversary at Ozinga Field (formerly Hawkinson Ford Field and Standard Bank Stadium). To commemorate the milestone, Windy City will revert back to its inaugural ‘Cook County Cheetahs’ title and take on the River City Rascals on Friday, May 31. Both the Cheetahs and Rascals opened their respective franchises in the Frontier League with a May 31 contest 20 years ago. Festivities include the first induction of the 2019 Hall of Fame class in former ThunderBolts second baseman Gilberto Mejia. Mejia will be enshrined prior to the 6:05pm game on Saturday, June 1.
