SANCHEZ EARNS FIRST 2019 PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Cleburne Railroaders’ RHP Jesus Sanchez (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 19, 2019. Sanchez earned the award for a scoreless seven-inning start against the Sioux Falls Canaries that resulted in a 7-2 win on May 16. In the start, the veteran righty gave up just four hits while striking out eight and walking zero. Sanchez began his professional career in 2008 after signing with the Philadelphia Phillies’ organization out of Venezuela. The 31-year-old spent three season in the Phillies organization before moving on to the Milwaukee Brewers’ organization in 2012 where he put up his best statistical season to date, going 7-3 with a 1.63 ERA in 71.2 combined innings pitched between Double-A and Triple-A.
